Chinese Brush Painting

This painting is dedicated to the farmers in Captain Cook who provide our Green Market's booths with home grown produce and eggs from their chickens. Large percentage of the farmers here have 66 to 10 acres of Coffees or Macadamia nuts and supplement vegetables and fruits and add varieties to our market with seasonal produce. Our Market Managers Tim Bruno and his wife Karen Krieble and their children are living in a coffee shack, are homesteaders and tells us stories of farm life with their chickens that are speckled and each have their own names like Crackers, Pumpkins and their black and white speckled Bard Rock chickens Inky and Motown. Chickens are very smart and are entertaining to watch. Inky and Motown are likely to be found inside their fenced in vegetable garden and the others are looking on the other side of the fence enviously. They are very social, like to bathe in the sun, sleep in the shade and like to roam freely and spend time preening themselves. They are fed oatmeal and given special treats like flax seed, sesame seed, quinoas or can be finding worms, insects and to their delight peck centipedes as special delicacies. They also eat Coqui frogs and uproot weeds as well as fertilize the yard and farm.
